NCAA Women's Basketball Championship

Rutgers vs. Tennessee (46-59)

C. Vivian Stringer vs. Pat Summitt

What a game!!! My two favorite teams and my two favorite coaches. I was torn.

However, in the grand scheme of things, I was truly pulling for Rutgers. I wanted Coach Stringer to see what it feels like to win a Championship Title. If her team could have played the way they played to get to the Final......there would be no doubt that they could win it. This "team of destiny" did not have destiny on their side. They did not play to their full potential. Seemed like the excitement of being in the big game was just too much for the young Scarlet Knights.

Not to worry....Rutgers will be back next year.

I am happy for Coach Summitt to end the almost 10 year drought to get her coveted 7th Championship. The Lady Vols just meshed together and could not be stopped. The team was definitely focused and hungry. Although Candace Parker stood out with star characteristics, others stepped up to the plate to help. Nikki Anosike was a beast on the offensive boards, Shannon Bobbit was draining 3's like no other. The Lady Vols were back in true form with that Orange and White Rocky Top swagger!!!!

Congrats to both programs......they have done the game of Women's Basketball a great justice and the game has definitely been raised to the next level.....stay tuned for next season!!!!

March Madness and Twitter

Welcome to the Tournament!!! Whoo Hoo!!! This is by far the best time of the year. Multiple basketball games going on....all with do or die implications! I love it!! The other night Duke was beat by VCU!! That messed up so many pools because no one would have thought that Duke would have been ousted in the first round! I couldn't control myself. I was in my house screaming because upsets like those are the BEST.

Just waiting to see what the Lady Vols and the Lady Scarlet Knights do tonight. Tennessee was winning BIG time so they haven't been showing that game too much at all.

Ok, so I have been stung by the Twitter bug. I find it addictive and interesting. Its amazing to see what others are doing.

Anyone else "twittering?"

2007 - New Beginnings

I cannot believe that it is 2007!!! It seems like the years just fly by. Today it was 72 degrees! I loved it, but it is definitely not typical weather for the month of January. I think Global Warming is really upon us.

Tomorrow the Eagles play the Giants in the first round of the playoffs. Would be nice if the Eagles win and are able to advance. What I would REALLY like to see is for the Eagles to win the Super Bowl. It would be great and newsworthy because they would be doing all of this without Donavan McNabb......hahaha!!!! I can't stand him anyway! I think Jeff Garcia is much better!!

Today the Tenessee Lady Vols beat the UConn Huskies!!! I am thrilled, although Tennessee almost gave it away. They were up by 18 and at one point the game got tied late in the second half. But, true to form, the Lady Vols hung in there and pulled out the win.

Well, not much else to report......its off to study some CSS!!!

It's Official...Denver Nuggets got the "Answer"

Allen Iverson is now a Denver Nugget! Oh boy...I'll have to get used to that one! I cannot stand Carmelo Anthony so I hope that I will be able to watch them play together. However, I won't have to worry about that one for another 15 games cause that's how long the league suspended 'Melo for his role in the brawl the other night! I only have one statement to make right now.....Good Luck to A.I., I wish you the best!!!

A.I. Say It Isn't So....

Well, I guess the time has come. Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers seem to be parting ways. As much as I hate to say it and as sad as it makes me to say it, maybe this is best. I mean, I want to see Allen get a ring and the way things are going now, it does not appear that he would be able to get that ring with the team that they have now. He needs to win now because he is not getting any younger and his body might not have too many more basketball years left. The only thing that keeps me from being really sad is that I know he is going to be better off somewhere else. I mean, if the Sixers REALLY wanted to help him win, Billy King would have put together a much stronger team in the off-season. In my opinion, Billy King is a bumb and I hope that AI comes back and whoops the Sixers butts. No disrespect to Mo Cheeks, Chris Webber, Andre Igoudola, Sam Dalembert, and the rest of the team.....I love you guys, but my loyalty to the team is no longer as strong as it once was.

Referees are human BUT......

The Minnesota Golden Gophers got robbed!!!! The pass interference call that was made in Overtime cost the Gophers the game!!! There is NO WAY a call like that should be made in OT unless it is blatently obvious!!! I cannot belive it!!! I am still seething over that call!!! Penn State.....you got lucky!
